A need is a problem that has been resolved. Changes can therefore trigger a need. A solution is a specific way to satisfy a need in a context. Stakeholders are individuals or groups who have a relationship to the solution. Benefit is the value for the stakeholder and it can be material (ie quantified eg monetary) or immaterial (ie qualitative eg reputation). If one of the core concepts changes, the other core concepts and their contribution to the benefit should be re-examined. If changes occur, the business analysis activities are often validated and, if necessary, the necessary actions are derived. In addition, the business analyst should always have the overall picture at least. Holistic and systemic thinking are of particular importance.
Conclusion: Business analysis is both extremely relevant and challenging and requires expertise and experience.

Would you like advice on solutions to suit your needs at a strategic, tactical or project level?
