Moderation and Soft Skills for Project Manager and Business Analysts

This extended basic course is aimed at those who wish to deal intensively and methodically with the topic of business analysis including requirements engineering, typically because they are actively involved in these activities.

Description

OVERVIEW

An effective facilitator strengthens the group so that it uses its own latent skills and knowledge in the search for optimal solutions and consensus. The facilitator’s ability to steer the workshop to achieve his goals is the key to the success of this method. This course provides participants with a structured approach to the planning, execution and follow-up of facilitated workshops. Several moderation techniques and procedures will be taught. Guides are provided explaining why, when and how to use them. During the course, emphasis will be placed on the efficient management of human dynamics. In contrast to courses that tend to provide overviews of topics, this workshop gives participants the opportunity to deepen what they have learned through numerous exercises on the techniques presented.

GOALS

  • Apply the various moderation techniques and correctly assess when and how they can be optimally used.
  • Develop a structured approach to planning and conducting moderated sessions.
  • Provide efficient management of human dynamics.
  • Use various facilitation techniques to help form teams, resolve conflicts and identify and solve problems.
